Season best for Caroline at Laguna Seca!
I’m so happy to write this post race recap. Our great progress from Utah a couple of weeks ago continued, and I finished my race at the legendary Laguna Seca with a top 10 finish! I couldn’t be happier!
Weekend started a bit slow Friday and It took me a while to get going. I was provisional 14th after my first qual but I knew I had more in me. Second qualifying session wasn’t much to brag about either. I was unlucky with traffic and unfortunately the session was red flagged and stopped early because of a crash on track. I didn’t get a good lap in and dropped to 15th overall. I was so frustrated.
With World Superbike competing at the same time as MotoAmerica we had very limited tracktime this weekend. We only had one race, and I knew I only had one chance to show my potential.
33 riders tried to qualify for Supersport, and I started 15th for my race. I had a good launch of the line but got pushed wide in turn 1. I put my head down and started grinding. I had some great battles in the early laps before I was able to pick up my pace. To end the race in 10th in this company feels amazing! These guys are no joke, and we are getting closer to the front every race weekend. I’m excited about my own progress and to see where this can go.
Huge thank you to my Team Norris Racing, my mechanic Tyler and crew chief Tige for giving me such an amazing bike. Thank you Carol from MotoVixens, Jason Pridmore, Ringstad AS and Angie & Kelly Norris for making this all possible. It felt so good to have a great weekend with my friends there to witness it all, thank you to everyone that came out!
This is me and my good friend and sponsor Carol from MotoVixens.
Next race is at Sonoma in North California. It’s not my favorite but I feel confident we can continue our progress and make it another great weekend.
